Every parent knows that there is a always a possibility of finding their little Picasso's drawings on something other than the preferred - paper. Once a child learns the art of creativity with crayons, they often stray from their familiar coloring books and begin experimenting on toys, furniture and even walls. Finding a crayon drawing on a wall is not usually a cause for alarm. Take a deep breath and try this quick and effortless procedure to remove crayon from almost any painted wall.
1. Dampen a clean sponge or cloth with warm water. It is not necessary to thoroughly soak the sponge or cloth to avoid dripping down the wall or onto the carpet.
2. Squeeze a dime sized amount of toothpaste (Crest with baking soda and peroxide works wonders) onto the sponge or cloth.
3. Starting with a small area, gently rub the sponge or cloth in a circular motion over the area of the wall containing the crayon. It is usually not necessary to scrub the wall very hard. The crayon should instantly begin to disappear.
4. Continue adding dime sized amounts of toothpaste to the sponge or cloth as needed and rubbing gently in a circular motion until all of the crayon disappears.
5. After all crayon is removed, thoroughly rinse the sponge or cloth with warm water. Wipe down the entire area of the wall where the toothpaste was applied.
