It all started with six great friends I met through my children's preschool.  We found we had many things in common: first and foremost our children, then our love to read, and of course our incessant need to have one night a month to get together, have dinner, enjoy a few coctails, and discuss the latest book we were reading.  So, we started a book club.  Our dinner, our jokes, our drinks and laughs were about 98% of the evening, the book only about 2%, but we had a great time and read many fabulous books - some we probably would never have tempted if others didn't recommend them.  Here are some of our favorites:

Long Drive Home: A Novel
This book grabbed me from the very beginng and held me all the way through.  Although I absolutely loved the book, I must say the end was not what I expected and I wish it ended differently.

Thirteen Reasons Why
I thought the idea of this book was brilliant, unlike one I have ever read (and I have read a lot!!).  It's a real eye-opener and a great book!

I absolutely loved the characters, and this book was a fun read.  Make sure to read Backseat Saints - it tells some of the story from another characters perspective!

This is probably my favorite book of hers and the book that led to reading her others.  Really good read, great connection with the main character and kept me guessing till the end!

I feel guilty to admit I didn't enjoy this book as much as anyone else I've spoken to who has read it.  Everyone raves about it!  It was a little deep for me, had a very difficult part to deal with, but overall has a great message within the book.

I was a bit against reading a book about children fighting till their death in organized games, but got over it instantly once I began reading this book.  I was as into this book as I was the Twilight series.  During the day I found myself wishing it were night-time so I could crawl into bed and read.  Warning - you may stay up all night reading!!
